Lake station clock tower Gold Line

It is only fitting that a clock tower is the visual motif for the Lake Avenue station of the Gold Line. This station is at the edge of Pasadena's financial district which extends about three blocks to the south on Lake Avenue. For the financial crowd time is money.

If you walk south on the east side of Lake Ave. from the station you will discover plaques honoring significant events in the Tournament of Roses embedded in the sidewalk.

Beyond the high rise towers full of brokers, bankers and assorted other financial folks, you will find 6 blocks of wonderful restaurants, specialty stores and boutiques.

Macys is in a Streamline Moderne building. Next to it is the ubiquitous Corner Bakery. Okay, we know it is a chain restaurant, but here it has a charming and spacious patio for dining and people watching.  Dwell is a block away.  Further along you can sip coffee at Starbucks or on Peet's outdoor patio
