Soiuth Pasadena Walking Man statue Gold Line

The Walking Man by Michael Stutz outside the Gold Line station in South Pasadena is an apt sculpture for this location because Mission Street is definitely a walking and eating and shopping street.

The immediate area has several restaurants worth mentioning. They are all locally owned--no chain restaurants around here and many are busiest on weekends.

Busters South Pasadena For early morning coffee and a time trip back to the 1970s, stop at Busters right across from the station. Busters has now changed ownership and is called 'Moo on Mission'

Kaldi, another coffee house, is located one block south on El Centro across from the South Pasadena Public Library.

Bistro de la Gare South Pasadena
The Bistro de la Gare is around the corner from the Mission Station on El Centro. And Nicole's Gourmet Cafe serving casual French food is next door.

Firefly restaurant South Pasadena
You may not notice it at first but the dining room at the Communal restaurant is a tent extending over a large old patio. It's a lovely place for a romantic dinner.
